The latest deal
completed by Gateley
4 December 2014
We are pleased to announce the completion of the following deal:
Sale of Altitude Access Limited to AFI Uplift Limited
Gateley advised on the sale of Altitude Access Limited to AFI Uplift Limited. Altitude was established over 20 years ago
by Bill Thompson and Michael Burnett and has developed to be one of the leading independent suppliers of Powered
Access equipment and associated training services to clients in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire. From its base
in Blidworth near Mansfield, Altitude Access services customers across a broad range of sectors utilising its rental fleet
of 180 machines that include Cherry Pickers, Scissor Lifts and Boom Lifts.
AFI is one of the fastest growing operators in the Powered Access sector with organic expansion supplemented by a
series of acquisitions that have been undertaken since 2002. AFI has 19 existing locations in the UK and a presence in
the Middle East and has a rental fleet of 5,000 machines generating turnover in excess of £50 million.
Corporate partner, Mark Rutherford said "We are really pleased to complete this deal. Bill and Mick have worked really
hard over many years to build up Altitude to what it is today. It's great for us to be involved at this time. It is actually the
second time in the last few years we have acted on the sale of a local company to AFI."
Other local advisers included Skye Corporate Finance and Adcock Financial Limited.
The deal was led by Mark Rutherford and supported by Victoria Elliott.
