Report on CLEAN LDCE GREEN LDCE campaign held on
29th Nov.,2014, Saturday from 8.00am to 11.00am at L.D.College
of Engineering, Ahmedabad
Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the cleanliness campaign was started nationwide on 2nd
October 2014 , the holy day of GANDHI JAYANTI. As a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,
LDCE successfully organised CLEAN LDCE GREEN LDCE cleaniness programme in
association with LAA members on 29thNov.,2014 from 8.00am. Nearly 200+ faculty
members and 500+ students and LAA members participated in this cleanliness programme
and spend their 3 hours to make the campus neat and clean.
The programme started with a welcome address by Dr. G. P. Vadodaria, Principal, L.D.
College of Engineering. He appealed the entire faculty and the students to make it a habit and
practice to keep the surroundings neat & clean which should not for a day but for round the
year.
Shri Sunil Shah, Councillor-Ambawadi & LAA member advised all the participants to whole
heartedly to clean the campus and make it a joint effort in the mission initiated by Hon.Prime
minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi of Swachh bharat Abhiyan by keeping campus clean and
green.
Dr. M N Patel, Vice-Chancellor of Gujarat University was happy to be a part of the cleaning
programme at the college where he served as the Principal for more than 10 years. He shared
his words of wisdom and appreciated the campaign initiated by the faculty & the students
jointly with the LAA members.
Shri Pradip Jain, Secretary Roads & Building department, GOG and the president of LAA,
expressed his best wishes for the campaign and said that the campus is green but needs to be
taken care by all the members to dispose- off the solid waste generated due to large number
of trees in the campus. He assured to extend all possible help from the LAA as well as R&B
department to keep the campus neat and clean.
At the end of the inaugural session Shri Yogeshbhai Patel, LAA member and Manager
Torrent Power, conducted oath taking ceremony to keep the campus clean and spend atleast
100 hours during a year for the cause of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
After the inaugural ceremony, all the faculty members & Students including LAA members
collected all dusting equipments and moved towards their respective departments to clean the
inner and outer part of their classroom, laboratory and the open passage. The LAA members
lead by the President Shri Pradip Jain joined the cleaning campaign and cleaned the main
building front portion and the road side area leading to canteen in between block-6 and
workshop building.
Captain C.S. Sanghavi guided all the NCC& NSS students to clean all vulnerable locations in
a planned manner to remove dust & solid waste from the campus.
The dustbins 30 in numbers, cleaning rode, brooms, hand gloves and masks was donated by
the LAA members. The tractor, trolley, Bouquet and other cleaning tools were extended by
AMC for cleaning campaign.
In addition to cleaning programme, the free medical check-up programme was supported by
Mr.Yash (GTU alumni) CEO of E-Swasthiya. The Blood test, Random sugar, BP and other
primary tests were conducted by his team. More than 50 faculty members and other
employees get their health checked. The medical camp continued up to 11.30am.
The cleaning programme was a great success as everybody was determined to keep campus
clean and Green not for a day but for days & months to come.
