• Systems: carbon nanostructures (nanotubes, graphene), low-dimensional systems, atomic clusters
• Methods: density-functional tight-binding (DFTB), density-functional theory (DFT), classical force fields,
multiscale modeling
• Method development: DFTB and atomistic simulations
• Previous field: correlated electrons in quantum dots and rings
• Development of physics education: development of interactive methods, collaborative learning methods, advocate of Peer Instruction method (using e.g. Socrative)
